SOLOSOLO

Solosolo was the first creation produced by København Danser in 2020. A piece of new choreography danced through the empty streets of the city.

It was established in 1974 by a group of enthusiastic ballet dancers who wanted to entertain with humorous versions of the classical repertoire performed by men dressed as women (en travesty or drag).

Frankrig er ballettens hjemland, og den nationale stolthed Pariseroperaen har haft stor betydning for udviklingen af den romantiske ballettradition. I dag rummer det prestigefulde kompagnis repertoire både klassisk ballet fra 1800-tallet, moderne ballet af berømte koreografer som Maurice Béjart og Roland Petit samt spritnye internationale koreografier.

Decadance #22

Decadance #22 fører os lige ind i hjertet af Ohad Naharins koreografiske skaberkraft. Danset af The Batsheva Ensemble fra Israel. Følsom, hårdtslående, original og morsom. I år 2000 skabte Ohad Naharin første gang Decadance for at markere sine ti år med Batsheva Dance Company med uddrag fra koreografier, skabt til kompagniet.

København Danser indtog i sommeren 2022, i samarbejde med Copenhagen Opera Festival, Den Røde Plads, med en GAGA dansesession ledet af tidligere Batshevadanser Siri Wolthoorn. Det var en fantastisk oplevelse, som vi har haft svært ved at glemme – derfor gør vi det igen, så endnu flere kan opleve glæden!

The documentary film 'Reset' is about the choreographer and dancer Benjamin Millepied (best known for his choreography for the thriller 'Black Swan') and his process of staging his first ballet as ballet master at the Paris Opera.

The French feel-good film 'En corps' is about the promising ballet dancer, Elise, from the Paris Opera company, who is injured at the age of 26. When she is told that she can no longer dance professionally, she looks for new ways. It leads her in the direction of a new love and into the world of modern dance.

Two of Pina Bausch’s mythological dance works are reinterpreted in Dresden and Senegal in an iconic film that pays tribute to both Bausch and the hard-working dancers who today embody her revolutionary ideas about dance.

In Denmark we love John Neumeier's legendary ballet, but in London and New York it is Kenneth MacMillan's version of the love story that is the favourite. The Royal Ballet in London is one of the world's very best ballet companies, and their film version of 'Romeo and Juliet' was shot on location in Italy.
