San Francisco Ballet Principal Dancers
Gala program with 11 principal dancers and three world premieres
Join us on a journey through the history of ballet as eleven principal dancers from the San Francisco Ballet unfold the great dramas and intimate moments of three centuries. København Danser has composed a spectacular program that includes both classical ballet highlights and completely new works specially created for this festival.
The audience will sense the presence of history in the excerpt from Le Corsaire pas de deux, created more than 200 years ago by Marius Petipa, the father of Russian ballet. As well as pieces created throughout the 1960s and 1970s by important choreographers such as George Balanchine and Jerome Robbins who renewed the art of ballet with ingenious works like Tchaikovsky Pas de Deux and In the Night. In addition, three new-choreographed works will receive their world premiere, when young choreographers present their own version of ballet 2021.
