Kontakthof
TANZTHEATER WUPPERTAL
PINA BAUSCH
Experience the legendary Pina Bausch performance “Kontakthof” with Tanztheater Wuppertal!
After 10,000 people have experienced Pina Bausch's “Le Sacre du Printemps” at Østre Gasværk Teater, now is your chance to experience the company that Pina Bausch herself created: Tanztheater Wuppertal.
Tanztheater Wuppertal, currently led by Boris Charmatz, continues Pina Bausch's legacy. The company re-performs her iconic works, such as “Café Müller” and “Le Sacre du printemps”, while also exploring new ensemble works that blend dance and theater.
“Kontakthof” is one of Pina Bausch’s most iconic works, created in 1978. The performance explores themes such as love, intimacy and longing. Through dance and humor, human relationships are explored in all their complex facets. The complexity has only increased in the present, which makes Kontakthof more relevant than ever.
Philippina “Pina” Bausch
Philippina “Pina” Bausch (1940-2009) was a German modern dancer and choreographer, known for her unique dance style that combined acting and dance. This concept is called Tanztheater.
