København Danser + Middle East Peace

Have a riveting musical experience where everyone, regardless of background, can find something for them. The scene is set for a cosmopolitan festival when Middle East Peace Ensemble and København Danser makes community come alive at the heart of Nørrebro.

In addition to being one of the best oboists in the world, Henrik Goldschmidt started the Middle Eastern Peace Ensemble – a group of musicians with Jewish, Christian and Muslim backgrounds - creating solidarity through the power of music.

You can also experience the Swedish mezzo-soprano Idil Alpsoy as a soloist. Alpsoy is an opera singer who trained at the Manhattan School of Music, and her roots are in Hungary and Turkey. Her warm and full voice spans the field between opera and folk-song with perfect ease.

Feel the music run all the way through to the tips of your toes! København Danser has invited the Belgian-Moroccan choreographer Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui and two dancers from the Eastman company to set the music in motion with a performance developed especially for the occasion.

Den Røde plads – NØRREBRO

August 21st, 2022

DCP, 60 min.

Free entrance

It will be a moving concert experience where audience and musicians can listen, play, cry and laugh together.

The concert is presented in collaboration with ALICE

Supported by Københavns Musikudvalg
